Deep in the heart of Mordheim lies the infamous Bleichengasse. The name is not derived from the town’s bleachers, as you might expect, but from the pale color of the corpses in the local morgue. Rumor has it, that if you look into the eyes of the corpses at the time of Morrslieb, you will see the soul of the horned rat.
Build with cardboard and balsa wood. Used some ice-sticks/coffee stir sticks for floorwork. Plastered the walls with wooden flocks and a mix of water and white glue.
Made some shingles out of thin cardboard.
Primed black and started with different color schemes, to see what fits best.
Mix of grey, brown and green for the wooden floor. Washed with Sepia and dry brushed with Bone White. Painted the walls in an off-white color, because i think it fits best into the medieval look.
Added some weathering.
Added some details and finished with some bloody patches.
Added these awesome posters from devs&dice.
All in all, i have to say that the houses show the grimdark and rotten flair of Mordheim quite well.
However, the wood flocks, which are normally used for basing, aren’t quite as suitable for the walls because they soak up the paint and you have to apply a lot of layers to it. I don’t quite like the texture of the walls either, as they’re too rough for my liking, but as a prototype, it was fun to do and I’m happy with it.
